The Graduate School of Information Science is seeking people who are able to think logically and who can effectively express their own thoughts in order to gain the ability to respond flexibly to the development and changes in information and communication science and technology.

2. People who have the ability to identify problems on specialized themes and discover ways to resolve them

Graduate School of Biological Sciences

Graduate School of Biological Sciences is seeking students such as the following.

1. Persons who are enthusiastic and eager to elucidate the basic principles of vital phenomena and biodiversity at the molecular and cellular level
2. Persons who have a strong interest in helping resolve the problems of human society through deep and wide-reaching specialized knowledge of biological science and aspire to become actively involved in a broad range of scientific and technological fields

Graduate School of Materials Science

The Graduate School of Materials Science is seeking individuals with the following qualifications.

1. Candidates must possess a general curiosity in scientific research and an eagerness to engage in cutting-edge research not only in materials science but in a variety of inter-disciplinary fields
2. Successful applicants will have a strong interest in understanding societal issues and the needs of industry, and will endeavor to influence a broad range of scientific and technological innovations

After admission, in addition to the lectures that they attend in which they gain basic knowledge and study state-of-the-art technology that serve as the foundation for the research fields of information science, biological science and materials science, education is implemented for the purpose of nurturing them as students endowed with the sense of ethics that they should have as humans, broader horizons, logical thinking ability, strong ability to take action and comprehensive powers of judgment as well as abundant and practical powers of linguistic expression.? Education is implemented in particular for students in the upper level doctoral course that will serve as the platform for initiatives in world-class research and capabilities for independent accomplishment.
