At the time of entrance formalities, please pay tuition fee of the first semester. The entire amount for a year can be paid at the time. Tuition fee must be paid each semester(April and October)as long as you study at NAIST.
These fees will not be collected from international students who receive Monbukagakusho (Japanese Government) Scholarship and short-term exchange students who are accepted under the academic exchange agreement. |

If either of the following applies students entering NAIST are eligible for
Entrance Fee/Tuition Exemption:
- Students for whom the payment of entrance fee or/and tuition is difficult for
economic reasons and who are recognized as having outstanding academic ability;
- Students who are recognized as having extreme difficulty in paying entrance fee or/and
tuition, for example due to the death of the person having primary responsibility for the payment of
their school expenses one year or less prior to admission or due to damage sustained by them or the
person responsible for the payment of their school expenses caused by natural disaster.

Scholarship system for international students |
| Scholarships for international students are as follows. Unfortunately, the number of scholarships available at university is very limited and most of them are not sufficient to cover all of the living and education expenses. Before applying for admission, students should plan their funding carefully. |

a. Monbukagakusho (Japanese Government) Scholarship
System
Monbukagakusho (Japanese Government) Scholarship System
A monthly scholarship of 172,000 yen may be granted by the Japanese
Government (Ministry of Education). More information can be found

b. System forstudents sent by a foreign government
The scholarship system for students who have been sent by foreign
government. The amount of scholarship differs in each government. |

c. System ofHonors Scholarship for Privately-Financed
International Students
Japanese Government(Ministry of Education) may pay a scholarship
fund of 70,000 yen per month. |

d. Other scholarships
There are scholarship funding systems implemented by private scholarship foundations, and notification is given whenever
we are offered from foundations. |

Personal Accident Insurance for students pursuing education and research |
| |
If you suffer an injury during your educational or research activities, this insurance program will provide the necessary insurance benefits.
It will pay insurance benefit for injury, disability, death due to an accident
that occurs in cases such as while working on your regular curriculum activities, participating in extracurricular activities and
when attending university events.
All students are required to purchase this insurance when they enter NAIST. |
