Future Project Laboratory

As a one of our initiatives along the MEXT Program for Promoting the Enhancement of Research Universities, the Project for Recruiting and Fostering Young Scientists with Tenure Track Positions is implemented under the Creating New Research Streams Program. The project provides a laboratory for each tenure-track researcher, and secures a tenure-track Associate Professor position and independent research environment

In January 2015, the Nanomaterials and Polymer Chemistry Laboratory opened, cooperating with the Graduate School of Materials Science. The lab aims to create novel functional polymer materials through the application of molecular technology, focused on creation of biocompatible polymers and bioabsorbable polymers. And the Social Computing Laboratory, founded in September 2015, cooperates with the Graduate School of Information Science advances the researches mainly on natural language processing, medical information science, web engineering, and applications of information technology to the real world based on natural language processing. Moreover, the Plant Symbiosis laboratory started its operation in April 2016 cooperating with the Graduate School of Biological Sciences. By combining molecular genetic, cell biology and genomic approaches, the lab aims to understand the nature of parasitism.
