UNITEC (New Zealand) Delegation Visit

On October 18th, 2017, Vice President David Glover and Prof. Paul Pang (Department of Computer Science) from UNITEC Institute of Technology visited NAIST. At the courtesy visit, Vice President / Executive Director Kiyomi Kakiuchi, Vice President Tsukasa Ogasawara, and Director Sachi Ando of Division for Global Education welcomed the delegates and shared information on past, ongoing, and future academic activities between the two institutions.

Following a meeting with Prof. Kenichi Matsumoto (Dean, Graduate School of Information Science), the delegates visited Prof. Kazushi Ikeda at the Mathematical Information Laboratory, Prof. Youki Kadobayashi at the Cyber Resilience Laboratory, and Prof. Keiichi Yasumoto at the Ubiquitous Computing Systems Laboratory to explore further possibilities for collaboration in research and education.

UNITEC Institute of Technology has been a NAIST’s partner university since 2012 with an active doctoral-level double degree program. This delegation’s visit was another valuable opportunity to confirm and strengthen the growing relationship between the two institutions.
