■The Center for International Relations held the second Global Campus Event - "NAIST Tea Time"(November 5, 2013)

On November 5, 2013, the Center for International Relations held the second Global Campus Event "NAIST Tea Time" with over 40 students, faculty and staff attending. In accordance with the "NAIST Globalization Strategic Plan 2011" and accompanying "Action Plan", Global Campus Events are aimed at strengthening NAIST’s on-campus community and fostering increased mutual understanding and familiarity among NAIST's diverse population of students, faculty and staff.

The event started with students from Thailand introducing Thai iced tea. Two students demonstrated how to make Thai iced tea using a cloth filter, the most common tea filter in Thailand. After the demonstration, tea was provided to all the attendees.

Next, PechaKucha presentations were presented by the following three participants:  (The presenters chose to give their presentations in a language other than their native one.)
・Chu Bao Trung (Vietnam), Student (M2), Information Science
・Paul McAleese (New Zealand), English instructor, Biological Sciences
・Keisuke Kado (Japan), Student (M2), Materials Science

The event was a great success and the next event will be held in the winter of next year.
