All international students are eligible to live in campus dormitories. The Student Dormitories are comprised of 619 rooms. To support students' research work on a 24-hour basis, LAN access is provided from the dormitories, allowing access to university networks, including the university's Digital Library, as well as national and international scientific research institutions.
Selection of Residents
Dormitory resident selection is based primarily on entrance examination results. However, other factors are also taken into consideration, such as the relative commuting distances to school from students' family homes.

|Network||The dormitories are connected to the Institute's network for free usage. The student dormitory network, available only within the Institute, is managed and operated by the Student Dormitory Network Committee, a volunteer organization.|
Parking spaces for dormitory residents
Parking spaces are available for about 75% of the residents at student dormitories. The parking fee is 3,000 - 4,000 yen for six months.
Leased Housing (Urban Renaissance Agency Housing)
NAIST has a contract with the Urban Renaissance Agency to provide public housing for students who wish to reside off-campus or who are ineligible to reside in the student dormitories.
