International Friendship Meeting (January 31, 2019)

2019/02/08

The NAIST International Friendship Meeting was held at Millennium Hall on Thursday, January 31.

This meeting is an annual event which started in 1995 to promote an interaction between international students, foreign researchers, board members, faculty and staff, Japanese students and guests from several international exchange organizations. This year a total of 257 people participated in the meeting.

After President Naokazu Yokoya made opening remarks, all the participants with different nationalities and backgrounds mingled and had pleasant conversations with each other.

Everyone then enjoyed lively performances by international students and Japanese elementary and junior high school students.
The final event of the night was a bingo game where students and children all participated.

Everyone attending was able to warm their hearts in this cold season, and people enjoying the food, friends, and atmosphere could be heard throughout the night.
The meeting was hugely successful as various groups of people got together and developed closer ties.
