Using the Mentoring System

I knew the name of my mentor, Professor Satoko Yoshida, from academic conferences and other occasions, but I had not had the opportunity to talk to her intimately. I was grateful that she accepted my request to become a mentor through this program.
I was also grateful that I was able to talk to Dr. Yoshida in person because at the time of my appointment, I had few acquaintances at the university, and because of the Corona disaster, study groups for young plant scientists were always held online, so I had few opportunities to meet my colleagues in person.
He taught me many things, such as how to manage my research time and the difficulties of running a laboratory that cannot be seen from the outside.
