The opening of the UGM-NAIST collaboration office with Gadjah Mada University (June 8, 2016)

UGM-NAIST collaboration office was opened in the Center for Biotechnology Studies, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) on June 8 to promote joint research and related activities with NAIST in Indonesia.

Prof. Masahi Kawaichi, Head of the NAIST Indonesia Office and Director of the Division for Educational Development, and Mr. Tsutomu Hashida, Director of the Division for Global Education, visited Yogyakarta to finalize office arrangements on June 7, and participated in the opening ceremony with NAIST Indonesian alumni the next day.

The office is located in UGM's Center for Biotechnology Studies, one of the inter-university facilities for joint research and educational activities. It is expected to be a catalyst for introducing NAIST's advanced research and enhancing joint research with UGM and other partner universities.

NAIST previously established the Indonesia Office in the alumni building of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) on April 1. The synergy of the two offices will strengthen collaboration with NAIST Indonesian alumni who are now faculty members and researchers in top universities in the country and will facilitate our increasing presence in Asia.
