On Friday, November 27, Mr. Tetsuhiro Kawamura, Director of the Nara Labor Bureau, Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, Mr. Toshihiko Aoki, Director of the Equal Employment Environment and Equal Opportunity Office, and others visited the University and held a ceremony at the President's Reception Room to award "Kurumin" certification. At the ceremony, President Naokazu Yokoya received a "Notice of Certification as a General Business Operator Conforming to Standards" from Director Kawamura.
This certification was granted by the Minister of Health, Labor, and Welfare as a "company that supports child-rearing" because the company met certain requirements, such as achieving the targets for the initiatives set out in the action plan based on the Law for Measures to Support the Development of the Next Generation from April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2020.

Exchange of opinions after the Kurumin delivery ceremony After the certification ceremony, President Yokoya, Director and Administrative Director Goro Watanabe, Professor Michiko Inoue (Assistant to the President for Gender Equality), Administrative Manager Masahiro Shimazaki, and Human Resources Section Manager Toshiyuki Tanaka exchanged opinions on the university's efforts to promote a better work-life balance.

Major Initiatives (April 2015 - March 2020)

①Shortened working hours for childcare for children up to the third grade of elementary school, children who have not yet entered elementary school, and children entrusted to childcare facilities.
 Introduction of early and late working hours for childcare for children of elementary school age.
②Issued handbooks and newsletters for employees regarding childcare support.
③Promoting proper management of working hours and reducing overtime by introducing an employment management system, etc.
④Promoted the use of vacation time by sharing the annual paid vacation plan.
⑤ Four male employees took childcare leave. Four male employees took childcare leave, and the total number of male employees who took childcare leave was 40.9%.
⑥78% of female employees took childcare leave.
⑦Average overtime and holiday hours worked per employee per month in FY2028: 16.8 hours.

We believe that our proactive efforts to create a comfortable working environment for female faculty members have been effective in raising awareness of childcare participation among male faculty members, which has been highly appreciated. We will continue to promote diversity initiatives and contribute to the community through childcare support.
