Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research

Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research are competitive funds that are intended to significantly develop all scientific research (research based on the free ideas of the researcher), from basic to applied research in all fields, ranging from the humanities and the social sciences to the natural sciences. The grants provide financial support for creative and pioneering research projects that will become the foundation of social development. The research projects are selected using a peer-review screening process (screening by multiple researchers whose field of specialization is close to that of the applicant).
URAs provide on-campus explanatory sessions and support application form preparation.

In order to achieve the goals set by the national government, ministries and agencies and related organizations are planning national projects. Universities are also expected to solve the problems by developing research results based on their own knowledge. We will promote and support various projects which are expected to develop and expand NAIST's research, such as improving and expanding the research environment, technical demonstration, and social implementation of research results, and promotion of regional industry-government-academia collaborative development.
URA performs support such as explanatory session, intelligence, application proposal making and evaluation meetings, and other follow-ups.
