On May 27th, 7students from Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (MIST, United Arab Emirates) and 3 staff members from Japan International Cooperation Center visited NAIST. In this visit we aimed to introduce NAIST's research, education, and facilities to attract excellent students who came to Japan in order to participate in company internship. This visit was held as a part of pre-training program of the internship.

Before the laboratory tours, a general introduction of NAIST was given by the Center for International Relations Director Noriko Ito, followed by a description of student life at NAIST given by a NAIST international student. Visitors attentively listened to the presentation of our various international activities and our substantial student financial support, and the experiences of living and studying at NAIST and in Japan from our international student.

Following this, they went on laboratory tours at the Graduate school of Information Science (GSIS) and Materials Science (GSMS) to cultivate a deeper understanding of our generous research environment and attractive research. The visiting students and faculty showed a strong interest in our advanced research, actively interacting with presenters and asking questions about various research and technology. At GSMS, a general introduction of NAIST GSMS was given by prof. Michiya Fujiki, chair of international committee at GSMS.

After the laboratories tour, they expressed their gratitude towards NAIST faculty and staff. This was a beneficial opportunity to encourage future cooperation between MIST and NAIST.
