Ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan visits NAIST (June 11, 2013)

On June 11, 2013, Bangladesh Ambassador Masud Bin Momen and Minister of Economics to Japan Jiban Ranjan Majumder visited NAIST.

The main purpose of this visit was an official visit to the president and to informally meet with NAIST students from Bangladesh. At the courtesy visit, President Naotake Ogasawara, Executive Director Mikio Kataoka and the Center for International Relations Director Noriko Ito welcomed the Ambassador and Minister. The Ambassador opened with an introduction of the present higher education in Bangladesh. This was followed with Executive Director Kataoka giving an overview of NAIST and an exchange of opinions.

After this, the Ambassador and Minister met with our international students from Bangladesh. One of them talked about his goal of going back to Bangladesh and continuing his research. He also said that he wants to work as a bridge between Bangladesh and NAIST.

This occasion was a beneficial opportunity for both sides to exchange information and opinions.
