International Friendship Meeting (January 23, 2018)

2018/02/07

The NAIST International Friendship Meeting was held at Millennium Hall on Tuesday, January 23.

This meeting is an annual event which started in 1995 to promote an interaction between international students, foreign researchers, board members, faculty and staff, Japanese students and guests from several international exchange organizations. This year a total of 321 people participated in the meeting.

After President Naokazu Yokoya made opening remarks, all the participants with different nationalities and backgrounds mingled and had pleasant conversations with each other.

Everyone then enjoyed lively performances by Malaysian children, Tanzanian and Senegalese students, a group of Vietnamese and Indonesian students and members of the Circus Club.
The final event of the night was a bingo game where students, children, and the guests all participated.

Everyone attending was able to warm their hearts in this cold season, and people enjoying the food, friends, and atmosphere could be heard throughout the night.
The meeting was hugely successful as various groups of people got together and developed closer ties.
