A symposium supported by the network and activities of the NAIST Thailand Office titled "NAIST and Thai Universities for Research and Education Collaboration Symposium 2018" was held at KU HOME in Kasetsart University, Thailand on November 3, 2018. This Symposium was organized by the NAIST Thailand Office for students and faculty members gathered from Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University and Kasetsart University, and the Thai students who were NAIST intern students gave presentations about their research activities during their stay at NAIST.

In the symposium, a welcome message from NAIST President Yokoya was first introduced and then Prof. Kiyokawa, NAIST, gave a keynote lecture. After these, sessions started in the order of Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University and Kasetsart University, where each university's supervising faculty acted as chairs for the student presentations. After each presentation many attendees asked questions and each session fostered the exchange of opinions beyond the individual universities.

At the end of sessions, Assistant Prof. Raula Gaikovina Kula, NAIST, gave a closing talk and finally, this symposium ended with Vice President Putchong Uthayopas, Kasetsart University, closing remarks.

Through holding this symposium, NAIST Thailand Office plays a significant role as a bridge to strengthen ties between both countries through education and research, as well as between Thai universities.
