On October 18, One-day Excursion for International Students was held with the aim of broadening students' perspectives through exposure to Japanese culture and history, as well as deepening interaction among the students.
A group of 42 international students visited Arashiyama in Kyoto, where they experienced wearing traditional Japanese kimono and visited the Okochi Sanso Garden. Although some students initially seemed a bit unaccustomed to the tight obi and Japanese Sandals, it proved to be a valuable opportunity to experience traditional Japanese culture firsthand. At the Bamboo Forest Path, they immersed themselves in the Japanese culture of wabi-sabi, surrounded by the endless bamboo forest and the gentle rustling of leaves in the wind. At Okochi Sanso Villa, they explored unique buildings that incorporate traditional Japanese residential architectural styles, gaining firsthand appreciation for Japanese architecture.
Furthermore, students deepened their bonds with one another across different nationalities and academic fields. Participants shared positive feedback, such as "It was fun to make friends with students from various backgrounds and experience Japanese culture," and "It was a special day when I could truly enjoy Japanese culture, including beautiful kimono and architecture," making the study tour a highly meaningful experience.
