Message

Presently not only the global environment, but in particular mankind itself is facing a major turning point. As the causes and effects of energy depletion, environmental pollution and ecosystem destruction have become complexly intertwined, we are no longer able to propose simple answers to these issues. In times such as now, intellectually based guidelines and actions are essential. For this, universities need to broaden intellectual prowess and promote knowledge acquisition. I hope to contribute to NAIST becoming one of the central universities that take charge of these important tasks.
