*In order to promote the hiring excellent researchers from overseas (including Japanese nationals returning to Japan), and to facilitate a smooth start as they start their research at NAIST, NAIST offers Start-up Funding for Researchers from Abroad who have belonged to foreign education/research organizations as a researcher/student for one year or more.

4. Employment term

5 years (Reappointment to be determined by performance review. However, the maximum term of employment possible is until March 31st, 2032. )

Information Science, especially, Computer Network, High-Performance Computing, or Information Security.

7. Qualifications

  1. PhD degree is required at the date of hiring.
  2. One who has experience operating large-scale computer networks and/or cluster systems, or have advanced knowledge of these systems.
  3. One who has excellent scholarly achievements in one or more of the above-specified fields.
  4. One who is capable of supervising graduate students including international students and is highly motivated to promote international collaboration in the above-specified fields.

8. Employment conditions

  1. Workdays: Monday through Friday
  2. Holidays: Saturday, Sunday, national holidays, the end/beginning of the year and the anniversary of the founding of NAIST (October 1st)
  3. Discretionary labor system for professional work

9. Remuneration

Annual Salary Scheme (determined in accordance with the salary regulations of NAIST)

10. Allowances

Commuting and housing allowances, etc. provided in accordance with NAIST Salary Regulations.
