Taiwan Interdisciplinary Nano/Bio Symposium in Kansai

hosted by Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST)
in cooperation with National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU)
9-10 January, 2023

Japan and Taiwan interdisciplinary exchanges established extremely close relationships through the great efforts of pioneering researchers and, as a result, many researchers and students frequently traveled between both countries, promoting their research in both academic communities. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic put a stop to this in-person interaction and face-to-face communication over the last few years. However, as we see the pandemic heading towards its end, the re-acceleration of this exchange is a priority issue. This Taiwan Interdisciplinary Nano/Bio symposium will be held to accelerate Japan and Taiwan interdisciplinary exchange to increase exchange activities to a level that surpasses the pre-pandemic numbers, with a focus on interdisciplinary research involving nanotechnology and biotechnology. We are inviting researchers and students who have achievements related to these research field that are starting new collaborations in both countries to attend and discuss future possibilities and design new trials, especially in the Kansai area. NAIST is organizing the symposium based on experiences of previous joint research and collaborations with Taiwanese universities, and hopes to expand our human networks to neighboring universities in both countries.
