NAIST launches a double degree program with Université Paul Sabatier (May 29, 2014)

2014/05/29

The Graduate School of Materials Science at NAIST has launched a double degree doctoral program with Université Paul Sabatier (UPS) in France.
NAIST and UPS have developed a strong relationship since November 2007 when the two parties signed an academic exchange agreement. Since then, more than 73 students and faculty members have traveled to each other's campuses. In particular, our Graduate School of Materials Science and the UPS Doctoral School of Materials Sciences have exchanged their students through short-term internship programs based on joint research.
In the double degree program, we expanded the framework of student exchange to a degree-seeking program where students are enrolled in both NAIST and UPS simultaneously. Students will study under the supervision of professors from both universities for their research and thesis work and will obtain doctoral degrees from both universities.
On February 28, 2014, President Naotake Ogasawara visited UPS to meet President Bertrand Monthubert and both presidents signed an agreement of cooperation on the double degree program. Now NAIST is accepting applications for the program.
