NAIST mascot character

NASURA(ナスラ)

Nara Institute of Science and Technology(NAIST) has decided the mascot character from the entries received between July 2 and September 30, 2018. We would like to thank all those who submitted entries, 278 entries from within Japan and abroad.
"Nasura" was selected for the Best Design Award after voting both on and off campus that determined 9 eligible entries and upon final deliberation by a public relations project team.
Each of the three heads has their own consciousness, and they are skilled in the three areas of information science, biological science, and materials science. Nasura's hairstyle represents Yamato Sanzan mountains in Nara, which Nasura likes.

Some alterations were made to the original draft of "Nasura", and NAIST's new mascot character "Nasura" was born.

Nasura will be active in public relations activities of NAIST in the future, so please look forward to seeing it.

Winning entries (Best Design Award and the (Judges' Special Award) are as follows.

※ Initially, the judges' special award was planned for two selected entries, but the final judgment determined there were no other entries equivalent to Naitwe, so it was the only one selected.
