Reducing the scale of the March 2020 graduation ceremony

NAIST has decided to hold the graduation ceremony on a shortened schedule and reduced scale to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), and will be held as follows below.

As situations concerning the new coronavirus (COVID-19) continue to develop, NAIST will implement different measures, etc. and announce these on the NAIST homepage. Please confirm up-to-date measures and information regularly.


Date and time: Tuesday, March 24, 2020 10:00-10:30 (plan)
Location: Millennium Hall
Attendees: Representatives of the graduating class, executive administrative officers, and relevant faculty/staff only
Other information: The ceremony will be made available on the Internet. Details will be announced on the NAIST website as soon as they are ready.


Please note:

  • Student attendees will only be representatives of the graduating class.
  • We will contact students separately concerning the awarding of diplomas to those other than the representatives.
  • Considering the current domestic situations, we would like to ask that students refrain from inviting families, etc. to NAIST.
  • The celebration scheduled after the graduation ceremony has been canceled.
