International Students wishing to work must apply for permission to engage in activities not specified under their status of residence. Such permission is not required for TAs, RAs, and researchers at NAIST.

Permitted work hour levels are as follows: 28 hours or less per week for regular students, and 14 hours or less in principle for non-regular students. (During long breaks in the academic year, up to eight hours of work per day are permitted). Note that work in the adult entertainment business is not allowed.
